In the beginning, most solopreneurs give up because they focus on one thing only. They only network, only create the product (with no audience), or only write and do neither of the first two.

I was in the same position.

I only focused on writing yet stressed myself out about not having a product or audience. But I thought this was the way to success, to just focus on writing and the rest would come.

But I suggest zooming out a bit more.

Yes, focus on one thing. But let that be a path rather than one specific task.

For example, instead of focusing on just writing, focus on writing to build an audience and sell your skills to clients. You have got to be patient and work on all the moving parts of solopreneurship one day at a time.

In my opinion, it simply isn’t enough to get comfortable doing one thing. To build something sustainable, you have to work on all the fundamental things powerfully and consistently.
